Job description

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Fire Command Coordinator is to monitor and audit operations relating to Fire Command Dispatching procedures, renewal processes for operating permits, as well as the timecard and work order tracking of varied shops within Facilities. 

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. This is a safety-related position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Audit and update SOP’s relating to the monitoring of alarm panels and dispatching of calls in Fire Command.
  • Audit time card entries within HotSOS and Maximo to ensure accurate information relating to Project Accounting and Facilities Billing Services.
  • Monitor the operating permit renewal process associated with all elevators and escalators on property.
  • Monitor life safety panels In accordance with Appendix K.
  • Answer the phones and dispatch calls to the appropriate departments.
  • Dispatch alarms in accordance with FCC written SOP’s for Fire Alarms.
  • Adhere to policy requiring annual training for Self-Proprietary Supervising Station Facility.
  • Log department Team member call-ins.
  • Prepare and keep Rolodex of all contractors and vendors used by Engineering.
  • Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods.
  • Provide a service or assistance to meet the needs of a guest, client or customer.
  • Proper performance requires knowledge of a specific function or activity and familiarity with policies and procedures of the department.

  • Comply with policies and procedures of the department or section in order to complete service satisfactorily.
  • Proper performance requires some physical and mental dexterity in order to accomplish tasks associated with the completion of the service.
  • Possess skills to expedite clerical processing, perform a service, evaluate information, and take action based upon information to complete a task or assignment or activity.
  • Provide a service for others, and provide expertise based on information keyed, gathered, studied, processed or reviewed.

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • 5 years of experience in telecom, dispatch, 911 call center and/or service entity call center preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Maximo and HotSOS software programs.
  • Working knowledge of multiple telephone lines and 2-way radios.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Lift or carry 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
