Job Summary/Description:
WALA, a media organization, is searching for an Office Manager to perform administrative and accounting duties for executive management. Work with the executive team, corporate accounting, and human resources teams to ensure proper communication and onboarding.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Partner with Corporate Human Resources, Benefits, and Payroll to ensure accurate employee records and payroll processing
- Perform light accounting and support office financial activities
- Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding
- Conduct new hire orientations, including company benefits, policies, and procedures
- Manage payroll changes such as hires, promotions, pay adjustments, and terminations
- Maintain personnel files and update employee records within HR systems
- Manage station reporting records on the FCC website and complete annual FCC reports
- Ensure compliance with FCC regulations and applicable governmental agencies
- Assist with recruitment efforts and job postings
- Support the administration of Workers' Compensation matters and OSHA guidelines (knowledge preferred)
- Assist with planning and execution of station events
- Handle general administrative duties, including ordering office supplies
- Process vendor invoices through the company's accounts payable system
- Manage front desk reception responsibilities
- Work closely with, and serve as backup to, the Office Accounting Manager
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum 3+ years of administrative and human resources experience, with a focus on employee relations and payroll
- Basic knowledge of accounting concepts and principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills
- A college degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Solid understanding of employment laws and payroll regulations
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (UKG or similar platforms preferred)
- Proven ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
