Summary
This full time, shared faculty position will be co-funded by Summa Health System, Akron City Hospital and NEOMED.
The faculty will spend 80% of their time at the hospital, with a primary focus on establishing a viable inpatient transitions of care practice and precepting pharmacy students (8 students, 16 student months/year). Campus activities include workshop/lab facilitation, lecturing, admission interviews, committee service and student advising. Scholarship is an expected activity for all faculty in the college of pharmacy. Faculty will be expected to participate in structured on-campus faculty development programs.
Principal Functional Responsibilities
Teaching: Faculty responsibilities will include campus-based education such as small/large group teaching, student applicant interviews, assessments/evaluations, and student advising.
Scholarship: All faculty are expected to participate in producing scholarly work, which may include clinical and/or outcomes research, review articles, book chapters, case reports and more. Presentations at local, regional and national meetings will be expected.
Service: Participation on departmental, College, and University committees is expected. In addition, faculty members are expected to be active in local, state and national professional organizations.
Faculty will be expected to participate in structured on-campus faculty development programs.
Qualifications
  • Pharm.D.
  • Completion of a PGY1 residency or equivalent experience
  • Eligible for licensure in Ohio
