Support/Hourly - Position - Skilled Maintenance

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
  • Plan, organize, and maintain the operation of all AISD facilities as required to meet department responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Four years commercial building maintenance experience.
  • Valid Texas driver's license and a satisfactory driving record

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
  • Working knowledge of trade with background in maintenance of commercial facilities
  • Experience also required in maintaining roofs, brick, bleachers
  • Journeyman carpentry experience desirable

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Follow all AISD safety procedures as covered in AISD safety handbook
  • Abide by all AISD policies and procedures as outlined in AISD auxiliary employee handbook
  • Assume responsibility for safe operation and care of assigned service vehicle, tools and equipment
  • Assume responsibility for personal time card
  • Assume responsibility for maintenance and repair of all AISD physical facilities and structures, programmed maintenance procedures, and assigned zone
  • Maintain all physical buildings and structures i.e.; carpet, tile, toilet partitions, sheetrock, brick, roofs, blinds, ceiling tile/grid as directed by department foreman
  • Coordinate, organize and complete daily assignments assuming responsibility for proper documentation regarding assigned task, work orders and procurement of supplies
  • Initiate work orders within assigned zones as needs are recognized by zone employee
  • Coordinate, organize, complete daily tasks assuming responsibility for proper documentation for assigned work orders
  • Assume responsibility for daily directives as given by appropriate administrators
  • Assume all other duties as assigned to serve the needs as determined to be in the best interest of the AISD
  • Maintain effective and positive public relations rapport within assigned department and with all other areas of contact

All of the following, associated with the building trade, but not limited to:

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

ENVIRONMENT:
  • Will work in, under, around, outside of all AISD facilities.
  • Work will be done within AISD zone concept.
  • Employee will be exposed to all atmospheres found in this region of Texas.
  • Working in trenches may be required.

JOB DUTIES:
  • Maintain all AISD facilities as noted above.

NORMAL WORKING HOURS:
  • 9:30am to 6:00pm. Work hours may be adjusted to meet district needs.
