What is AirWatch and what does an AirWatch administrator do?

AirWatch, now part of VMware Workspace ONE, is a leading enterprise mobility management (EMM) platform that allows organizations to securely manage mobile devices, applications, and content. An AirWatch administrator is responsible for configuring, deploying, and maintaining the AirWatch environment. They ensure devices are enrolled, apply security policies, troubleshoot issues, and help users with device management. Their role is crucial in maintaining the security and efficiency of a company's mobile device ecosystem.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an AirWatch (VMware Workspace ONE) administrator?

To excel as an AirWatch Administrator, you need expertise in mobile device management (MDM), networking fundamentals, and a solid understanding of enterprise IT security, often supported by a degree in computer science or information technology. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication are crucial for addressing user concerns and collaborating with IT teams. These skills ensure secure, efficient device management and seamless integration of mobile solutions within the organization's infrastructure.
