Salary Range: $102,744 - $176,831

*Final salary offer will be based on relevant skills and experience to the position.

*Weekend availability and on-call status will be required.

Job Summary: The Director, Terminal & Landside Operations is responsible for directing daily landside and terminal operations, including activities such as terminal management, landside and airside shuttle management, baggage handling system support, line management, airline support in terminal operations, flight information services, coordination, gate assignments and common use resource allocation, Irregular Operations (IROPS) as related to terminal and landside and Common Use Ticketing Equipment.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Directs daily operations, such as terminal management, landside and airside shuttle operations, baggage handling system support, line management, airline support in terminal operations, flight inspection services coordination, gate assignments and common use resource allocation, Irregular Operations (IROPS) as related terminal and landside, common use terminal equipment and other conditions which affect terminal and landside operations.
• Manages, schedules and mentors the Airport Duty Managers. Evaluates employees performance on a regular basis and provides feedback to employees.
• Manages and maintains the direction, decision making, and assist with around the clock response related to terminal and landside operations.
• Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to maintain optimum airport terminal operations and landside operations.
• Maintains operations of public, passenger and employee shuttles by developing operational procedures, monitoring budgets, and managing staff and contractors
• Assists in preparation of operating and capital improvement budgets that meet departmental goals.
• Develops, interprets and enforces policies, regulations, and practices for landside and terminal operations.
• Develops, coaches, mentors and oversees professional development opportunities for staff’s continuous education and growth; prepares performance reviews for supervised employees.
• Provides leadership and works with staff to create a high performance, service-oriented work environment that supports the Nashville airport experience.
• Weekend availability and on-call status will be required.
• Develops, implements, and follows airport safety and security regulations.
• Establishes processes for recognizing and reporting unsafe conditions and actions.
• Develops plans to mitigate landside and terminal safety hazards or discrepancies.
• Manages the development of specific portions of the airport rules, regulations, and safety programs.
• Follows all safety regulations.
• Maintains regular and on-time attendance.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:

• Previous experience of managing a team of people in a team leader environment or as a project leader.

• Ground Transportation Services: Knowledge of the operating methods related to ground transportation and parking management services.
• Safety and Security: Knowledge of equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote safety and security.

• Aviation Law: Knowledge of laws, concepts, rules, regulations, and practices in the aviation industry.
• OSHA Regulations: Knowledge of state and federal OSHA regulations.
• Driving: Skill in operating a motor vehicle.
• Computer Use: Skill in using a personal computer, the internet, and other software to perform job-related functions.
• Relationship Building: Skill in establishing and maintaining effective and professional working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in business, aviation management, or a related field.
• 7-10 years of management or related experience.
• 7-10 years of landside and terminal operations or related experience.
• Valid Driver's License - Class D.
• Certified Member of American Association of Airport Executives.

Preferred:

• Master's degree business, aviation management, or a related field.
• Accredited Airport Executive (AAE) Certification.
