Airport Terminal Management Jobs (NOW HIRING)

WORK OBJECTIVE:
Reporting to the Deputy Director of Aviation, responsible for the overall daily management of the Terminal Staff and safe and efficient operations of the terminal, maintenance of mechanical equipment, building systems, and upkeep of terminal buildings at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. This position manages and brings solutions to issues involving customer flow, customer service, airport terminal infrastructure and facility issues, concessions, and airline operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification. The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such duties are a logical assignment to the position. • Manage approximately 60 employees including skilled labor, custodial, and customer service staff to perform custodial and customer service functions at BNIA on both a long- and short-range basis. • Perform administrative duties. • Attend and schedule meetings with tenants, outside contractors, and external departments as required for maintenance operations. • Act as liaison with airport tenants and concessionaires for facility/system maintenance projects • Monitors compliance with airport and federal regulations to ensure the safety and security of the traveling public and airport employees. • Monitors and enforce contractual and operating agreements, airport rules and regulations, and standard operating procedures. • Works with Incident Command/Airport Management in managing, coordinating, and resolving airport emergencies, security issues, and unusual situations within the terminal. • Prepare and manage operating and capital improvement budgets and procurement actions. • Establish priorities, track trends, and report performance metrics monthly. • Perform a variety of other related duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
This position requires thorough knowledge of and the ability to evaluate the functional performance of mechanical equipment, building systems and maintenance techniques and procedures, in addition to the following: knowledge of energy management theories and applications and ability to use building energy management systems and related software applications; knowledge of floor and carpet care, window wall systems, exterior metal panels, etc. Ability to order proper supplies and equipment and maintain properties; knowledge of union contracts and guidelines to participate in contract negotiations and to schedule staff and maintain work standards. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; ability to think analytically, to solve problems and keep equipment and property in good condition. Ability to interact positively and effectively with elected officials, Authority leadership, managers, local, state, and federal agency representatives, contractors, tenants, media representatives, dignitaries, customers, and members of the public from widely diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Experience in de-escalating customer-facing situations. Ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with the Authority and other airport employees, representatives of other agencies and the public. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds).
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is performed in usual office conditions with occasional exposure to disagreeable environmental factors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Aviation Administration, Engineering, Facilities Management, Industrial Management or industry related field and 5-7 years of relevant experience in Part 139 Airport Terminal Facilities or Part 139 Airport Operations with emphasis on customer service excellence at a small, medium or large hub international airport, 2-4 years of supervisory experience within Part 139 Airport Facilities and/or Operations, or an equivalent combination of education, training, industry credentialing and experience may be substituted for the qualifications listed above. Valid NY State Driver License. Must be able to obtain and maintain a SIDA badge/US Customs and Border Protection Seal. The incumbent must carry a company paid cell phone in order to respond to and coordinate emergency situations and is on-call 24 hours per day to respond to airport terminal emergencies as needed.
