Job description

SUMMARY:

Our client, nationally recognized and prestigious big law firm, seeks an associate with 3 to 5 years of transactional aviation law experience with a focus on aircraft purchases and sales, aircraft leasing, aircraft financing, and aircraft ownership plus operations structuring, to join their established aviation transactional & regulatory practice. This is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to grow into a key member of this active and growing team. The candidate may work in any of our client’s offices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as lead or supporting counsel in aircraft acquisitions, sales, leasing, and financing transactions.
  • Draft and negotiate purchase agreements, lease contracts, escrow agreements, and maintenance contracts.
  • Advise clients on [Federal Aviation Administration] (FAA) regulations, registration requirements, and Cape Town Treaty compliance.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence, including aircraft title and lien searches, to identify potential liabilities.
  • Provide support on FAA, IRS, and SEC matters related to aircraft ownership and usage policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have 3–5 years of legal experience with a significant focus on transactional aviation law (aircraft finance, leasing, or corporate law).
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Active Bar Membership in Good Standing within the State where Role is Located.
  • Strong legal drafting and analytical skills, with the ability to manage complex deal structures
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
