The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for Aircraft Fuel Systems Technicians (WG-8268-10) to join the "A-team" at Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma! In this role you will perform, coordinate testing, troubleshoot, repair, inspect, maintain and modify aircraft fuel systems and complex fuel components on associated KC-135, C-17, or KC-46 aircraft.

Hourly Wage Range: $35.11 - $40.96
*** This position also includes a $30,000 sign-on bonus and a paid relocation for well qualified candidates!***

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION
• US Citizenship is required.
• Previous experience working in aircraft fuel tanks is mandatory.
• This is a drug testing position. The employee is subject to random drug testing.
• Requires an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license (OR) associated military experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
• Must be able to climb, bend, stoop, crawl, and stand for prolonged periods on concrete or metal surfaces.
• Frequently lifts parts and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds and occasionally may lift and carry items that way about 50 pounds with mechanical lifting devices or with assistance from other workers.
• Shift work may be required and emergency overtime may be required (on a rare basis).
• Must be able to wear a respirator, pass an annual job specific occupational physical and ability to enter and exit the smallest fuel tank access opening/door on aircraft assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
• Reads and interprets blueprints, technical orders, manufacturers specification manuals, schematics, engineering specification orders and engineering disposition instructions, (REDI).
• Inspects aircraft fuel tanks and all associated parts for serviceability, analyzes the cause of failures and makes necessary repairs and adjustments to render the component serviceable within required specifications.
• Makes qualitative evaluations of the internal seals and leak rates of components.
• Must possess working knowledge of principles governing the behavior of fluids and basic electrical and mechanical principles to repair and test various complex fuel system components, subsystems and systems.
• Must have a working knowledge of associated trades such as hydraulic, electrical and environmental systems and the inter-relationship with the fuel systems.
• Uses hand powered tools, fixtures and instrument such as feeler gages, micrometers, voltmeters, torque wrenches, combustible gas indicators, oxygen analyzers and manometers.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA's)
• Comprehensive knowledge of principles governing the behavior of fluids and basic electrical principles to repair and test various complex fuel system components, subsystems and systems.
• Knowledge of associated trades such as hydraulic, electrical and environmental systems and the inter-relationship with the fuel system.
• Ability to wear respirator at ALL times, pass an annual job specific occupational physical and ability to enter/exit the smallest fuel tank access opening/door on the aircraft assigned.
• Knowledge of regulating and vacuum relief valves, refuel, engine feed, Cross feed, de-fuel, manifold and vent valves, hydraulically and electric driven boost and transfer pumps, fuel filters and environmental nitrogen inert systems.
