Job description

STS Engineering Solutions is hiring a Technical Data Specialist, Aircraft Records in Orlando, Florida. This on-site role supports the Aircraft Programs and Technical Operations group by auditing, organizing and maintaining aircraft maintenance records to ensure accuracy, traceability and airworthiness compliance.
This position is ideal for a detail-driven records professional with aviation, legal or medical records experience, strong computer skills and the ability to manage technical documentation in a fast-paced aircraft maintenance environment.
Position Summary
The Technical Data Specialist audits online and hard copy records for the approved maintenance record database each day, ensuring all maintenance entries are accounted for and accurate. This role organizes and reviews aircraft data related to time-controlled items, aircraft flight times, aircraft log pages and maintenance activities performed on aircraft to support proper airworthiness in accordance with CFRs.
Job Responsibilities
  • Daily audit aircraft Line Maintenance, RON Maintenance, C-Check, station, MCC, Technical Services and Maintenance Planning entries online and in the approved maintenance record database
  • Ensure all maintenance records entered into the ERRP System are received into the correct maintenance record database by the appropriate department each day
  • Record accurate hours, cycles and fluids into the FMIS system daily
  • Perform real-time audits of completed RON, ADHOC, OOS, AOG and Line Maintenance Work Packages for completion, accuracy and data entry into FMIS
  • Audit mechanic sign-offs, aircraft manual references and related maintenance documentation
  • Accurately audit and enter aircraft parts transactions into FMIS
  • Verify existing FMIS entries agree with documentation provided, including Maintenance Logbook pages and Non-Routines
  • Input data correctly into the database system each day
  • Review maintenance paperwork packages for accuracy and proper sign-offs as outlined in the GMM and applicable regulations
  • Send paperwork discrepancies to the appropriate station
  • Track discrepancies and escalate at required intervals to ensure corrections are completed and uploaded to the ERRP System
  • Perform monthly log page audits to identify missing log pages
  • Gather monthly reports as needed for different departments
  • Work with other departments to gather requested reports for Lessor Audits and Lease Returns, including SB, AD and LLP reports
  • Report SB compliance to Airbus World for ADs and EOs
  • Accurately track all serialized components on the aircraft
  • Correct aircraft hours and cycles on parts tags, EOs, ADs, FCDs and A-Checks for accurate data input into the maintenance database
  • Maintain familiarity with proper airworthiness requirements for time-controlled items as outlined in the TCI
  • Enter component removal and replacement transactions in the maintenance database as needed
  • Ensure part numbers and serial numbers are accurate
  • Work with Materials to get problem parts out for repair or exchange
  • Work with Assemblies and Configuration Analysts to maintain Assemblies records, both electronic and hard copy
  • Respond to daily requests from departments looking for DFPs or times and cycles on components
  • Perform other duties as required or directed by the supervisor or department manager
  • Maintain familiarity with training requirements defined in the GMM
  • Ensure required training is current prior to performing the functions and tasks of this position
  • Perform all other duties as reasonably requested by the Manager

Authority
  • Authority to advise on revisions to the RDSOP and GMM manuals
  • Authority to train new personnel in the ERRP system

Qualifications and Experience
  • Must be available to work on site in Orlando, Florida
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Proficient with Adobe and Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel
  • Previous records experience in aviation, legal or medical records preferred
  • Must demonstrate behavior that reflects the company core values of Safety, Respect, Trust, Collaboration, Value and Passion
  • Strongly preferred experience using AMOS and/or TRAX applications for tracking and management of aircraft materials and records
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for up to 10 hours per day
  • Strong computer skills, including keyboarding, Microsoft Office programs, web-based applications, internet browsing, SharePoint and shared network drives
  • Ability to understand and perform basic mathematical equations
  • Able and willing to travel as required
  • U.S. citizen or currently authorized to work in the United States
