Position: Transportation Supervisor

The opportunity

We’re looking for a hands-on Transportation Supervisor to support daily transportation operations in a fast-paced airline catering environment. This role helps oversee driver assignments, dock activity, flight catering schedules, and airside operations while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, customer specifications, and company policies.

You’ll work closely with the Transportation Manager, kitchen team, drivers, leads, and airline partners to ensure flights are catered accurately, safely, and on time in a 24/7 production and airside environment.

This position is ideal for an organized leader who can manage priorities, support employee engagement, and keep transportation operations moving efficiently.

Functions and Responsibilities

  • Ensure on-time and accurate production and catering of all flights.
  • Monitor and support compliance with HACCP, ramp safety procedures, and transportation SOPs.
  • Manage allocated labor and daily assignments to maximize productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate services between the kitchen, dock, drivers, leads, and airline contacts.
  • Prepare control sheets, assign drivers to teams and flights, and confirm dock departures are completed according to schedule.
  • Check dock areas to ensure employees have required equipment and trucks are ready for departure.
  • Verify teams are catering the correct aircraft and flights and assist with late flights or equipment changes as needed.
  • Assist with manpower planning and forecasting for transportation operations.
  • Maintain radio communication with operations leadership, meal planners, and leads during service.
  • Foster employee participation in improving work processes through proactive communication and engagement.

Qualifications & Educational Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
  • 2–5 years of supervisory or management experience, including scheduling.
  • In-flight catering experience highly desired; high-volume food service experience may also be considered.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to successfully manage a team of 20–30 employees.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, time-sensitive operation.
  • Comfortable working with all levels of employees and driving positive program change.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
  • Ability to pass TSA and FBI background screening.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
