Job description

Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Air Compressor Service Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a wide range of responsibilities including performing preventative maintenance, break-fix repairs, troubleshooting and calibration of air compressors and compressed air system components. The successful candidate needs to be able to work through problems, find solutions, and be responsive to customers' needs.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work as scheduled (typically 7:30 - 4:30 daily) in addition to being on call after hours, on holidays and weekends when scheduled.

  • Understand the working knowledge of both mechanical and electrical intricacies of compressed air systems and the repair of such.

  • Ability to research and understand operational manuals, schematics, diagrams and work orders as required.

  • Perform shop and field repairs, machine troubleshooting, break fix issues, as well as preventative maintenance on air compressors and air system components.

  • Report system diagnosis and problems to Service Manager including proper documentation and write-ups of field visits.

  • Submit leads to Service Administrator.

  • Complete detailed reports of each service call.

  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with customers and co-workers.

  • Proficiency in use of power tools, meters, cranes/hoists, and other items necessary for compressor diagnosis and repair.

  • Enrollment and participation in continued compressed air training provided by the client.

  • Proper and safe use of company vehicles.

  • Towing of trailer/compressors as necessary.

  • Maintain work area and vehicle in clean and orderly condition.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED, or other Technical Vocational Training preferred.

  • Basic computers skills and aptitude.

  • Ability to perform physical labor including lifting/moving heavy objects up to 100 lbs., prolonged standing, sitting, bending, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and reaching.

  • Drug free work environment. Must be able to pass a drug test at any time during employment.

  • Valid driver's license that is in good standing.

  • Commitment to driving safely in company provided vehicles.

  • Available to travel and stay overnight as required for jobs.

  • Positive attitude and ability to comply with company policies and procedures.

  • Provide personal tools necessary to complete job functions.

  • Comply with all safety rules and regulations both on office premises as well as on client property. Including following client specific on-site training and requirements.

  • EPA Certification Preferred (Refrigeration experience/certification a plus).

  • Maintain and strengthen customer relationships as well as representation of the client.

  • Team player.
