At Ingevity, we develop innovations that purify, protect and enhance the world around us. Our products enable oil to flow better, crops to grow fuller, roads to last longer and ensure that the air we all breathe is cleaner.

Our people come from all different backgrounds and help reimagine new possibilities daily. We understand there is no challenge too big and no contribution too small. We seek out new ideas for tackling complex problems and celebrate achieving the improbable. We value each person's unique talents and synergize them to create meaningful impact and sustainable solutions for our customers and our world.

Bold. Energetic. Ingenious. Genuine. If these qualities describe you, we'd love for you to join Ingevity!

Ingevity's Charleston Plant is seeking a detail-oriented Load Planner to coordinate end-to-end shipment execution across domestic and international lanes. This role drives accurate SAP transactions, on-time dispatch, and rigorous documentation while partnering closely with carriers, freight forwarders, customer service, production planning, and shipping operations. This is a second shift role meaning your hours will be 2:30 pm EST - 10:00 pm EST Monday - Friday.

How you will impact Ingevity

  • Support SAP transactions for outbound shipments from the Charleston Plant and third-party warehouses, ensuring data accuracy and same-day processing.

  • Execute all aspects of load planning in SAP and related systems: generate deliveries, toll-processing and stock-transport shipments, perform Post Goods Issue (PGI), create/confirm batches, make inventory adjustments, create bills of lading (BOL), print SDS, support label processes, and record demurrage details.

  • Monitor and coordinate export shipments with dray carriers, freight forwarders, booking agents, customer service, production planners, and shippers to meet required cutoffs.

  • In QTS, complete and monitor EDI on railcars, ensure accurate data flow to TP&E, follow up on pending issues to support same-day PGI and move confirmations, and update RC weights daily.

  • Communicate critical shipment status and exceptions to the load center, carriers, customer service, shipping, production planners, Charleston planning, leadership, and operators to ensure timely shipments.

  • Track, analyze, and validate demurrage and other accessorial fees for rail and truck; document shipment notes in SAP to support customer inquiries, claims resolution, and Accounts Payable processing.

  • Assist with management of leased wagons and maintain the daily log; produce daily reporting of loaded and empty drum trailers.

  • Provide night and weekend on-call load planning support on a rotating basis.

  • Maintain organized, compliant domestic and export BOL files and shipment records.

  • Serve as a liaison among the load center, customer service, shipping, production planners, and the QC lab to remove blockers and maintain schedule adherence.

  • Uphold all safety, environmental, and compliance requirements; maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

What you need to succeed

  • High school diploma required.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in shipping, logistics, transportation, or comparable systems-driven operations.

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m., with flexibility to cover other shifts as needed; participation in shared on-call coverage.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, Word); strong spreadsheet skills and relevant math/calculation proficiency.

  • Experience with SAP and QTS or similar complex enterprise/transportation systems preferred.

  • Knowledge of applicable safety, environmental, and compliance policies and procedures.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
