Position Overview
Serves as the subject matter expert and primary instructor for doctrine, strategic guidance, and theory as they apply to the Air Advisor mission. Provides platform instruction on National Security Strategy, irregular warfare, counterinsurgency, foreign internal defense, and related topics to mature military professionals (E-4 through O-6) preparing for advisory deployments. Cross-trained to support instruction in other disciplines as directed by the Site Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Deployed as a Military Advisor, PAS, RAS, FAO, PRT member, attaché, SCO, or equivalent with military advisory experience
  • Completed Air Command and Staff College, Senior NCO Academy, or sister service equivalent
  • Served on a DoD Major Command Staff or higher for at least two years
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction and evaluations on Doctrine, Strategic/Regulatory Guidance, and Theory including National Security Strategy, Guidance for Development of the Force, DoD regulations, Irregular Warfare, Building Partnership Capacity, Security Force Assistance, FID, Stability Operations, COIN, CT, and Theater Campaign Planning
  • Teach subjects including Strategic Guidance for Air Advisors, Aviation Enterprise Development, Theater Guidance, Irregular Warfare Fundamentals, Insurgency/COIN Fundamentals, FID, and Systems Thinking
  • Develop, update, revise, and deliver curriculum and courseware within USAF EOS-established policy
  • Liaison with functional SMEs across Air Force Geographic Component Commands, HAF, MAJCOMs, C-NAFs, other services, and interagency/intergovernmental organizations to keep curriculum current
  • Prepare classrooms, ensure equipment functionality, and manage student materials
  • Maintain satisfactory or above on Government-administered instructor evaluations
  • Support cross-training by teaching lessons in other disciplines as directed by the Site Manager

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching at a USAF Professional Military Education (PME) institution
  • Published research or policy work on national security strategy, IW, or FID topics

Work Environment & Conditions
  • Primary location: Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL), New Jersey. Contract may transition to other CONUS locations.
  • Normal duty hours: 0730-1630, Monday-Friday. Duty days may extend to 10 hours and include evenings, weekends, and holidays to support mission requirements.
  • Platform instruction normally does not exceed 6 hours per day.
  • May require OCONUS travel to PACOM, EUCOM, SOUTHCOM, AFRICOM, and CENTCOM (non-combat areas) as part of Mobile Training Teams (MTTs). Valid passport required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
