Overview

The Analyst position is responsible for conducting analysis of on-going operations, spend patterns, costs/savings of potential new strategies/initiatives, and the production organizational performance metrics/reports for the Facility Services department.  This position also works in conjunction with the Facilities Project PE team to support and plan for ongoing and future facility projects and construction work. This position is responsible for preparation of business case justifications, investment proposals and contract proposals inclusive of financial analysis.  The Analyst performs complex financial analysis by identifying, organizing and conducting data analysis to recommend process or business improvements related to operational or financial targets.  This position assists in review of business processes and contracts to ensure the Facility Services department is operating in the most cost effective and efficient manner possible.


Responsibilities

The "Ops Srv Busin & Fin Analyst" position may be hired at the level I/II/Sr/Lead.  The position responsibilities listed below reflect those of the Associate level.  Additional/varying responsibilities maybe included for other levels of the "Ops Srv Busin & Fin Analyst" role.

  • Support the development, compilation, maintenance, analysis and reporting of performance related data of the Facility Services department including data visualization, key performance indicators and operating reports
  • Completes monthly invoice processing to ensure timely payment to company business partners
  • Drafts investment/contract proposals and business cases per Company’s Capital & Investment Policy
  • Conducts financial and business research and analysis of proposed capital projects to include the review of contracts, large purchase orders, cash flow projects, and development of capital evaluation model
  • Identifies, analyzes, compiles and prepares data used to recommend process improvements that assist in meeting or exceeding of operational and financial targets
  • Assists and interacts frequently with managers, supervisors, project coordinators, and others in the preparation of the annual Business Plan, requests for reallocations of OPEX and Capital, and detailed budget estimates for projects
  • Interacts frequently with finance, tax, accounting, and budgeting departments to analyze alternatives and make appropriate recommendations
  • Interprets budget policies and practices to effectively guide and advise the Facility Services management team on applicable budgetary issues
  • Monitors capital and OPEX project‘s progress, costs and recommends corrective action where significant variances are projected to occur as related to time and spend
  • Supports management in the budgetary, financial, and statistical analyses of the Facility Services department
  • With limited support, prepares monthly budget variance reports, monthly forecast changes, annual financial reports, and ad hoc reports as requested by Facility Services management
  • Evaluates data, makes observations, and provides recommendations with a focus on (internal and external) customer experience and continuous improvement with guidance as needed
  • Supports the development of AIP’s (Authorization for Investment Proposal) for capital projects, allocating project costs and funding sources accordingly
  • Supports the development of contracts with Supply Chain and monitors contract spend analysis for all approved contract purchase agreements
  • Actively participates in outage restoration efforts as assigned by management
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.

 Required Experience

  • Strong technical understanding of Microsoft Excel is required.

Level II:

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or Accounting

Required Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in an analytical data operational role.

  • Demonstrated understanding of databases and analysis software is required.
