Service Contract Act (SCA) Position
Hourly range: 17.20
Responsibilities
  • The Recreation Aide organizes and directs trainees in leisure- time recreation/non-vocational activities and leadership programs.
  • Assists in center-sponsored trips and events including escorting and chaperoning. At times, may drive the students on trips/events.
  • The Recreation Aide assists with Water Safety programming (videos, swimming certification and swim lessons} and CIS documentation- if applicable.
  • May provide instructions to trainees in various recreational clubs such as sports, poetry, drama, talent shows, etc., and other creative activities, such as arts and crafts.
  • Mentor students in Recreation Aide Program to help establish life skills.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates of Arts degree or one (1) year of related experience working with youth.
  • Prefer experience in a recreation/non-vocational program.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule to include weekends, holidays and/or nights.
  • Valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
