Job description

Avenue Five Institute is a national award-winning beauty and wellness school with campuses in Austin, TX. We are currently seeking an additional Financial Aid Adviser to support our growing population of talented students for both our North and South Austin campuses.


Financial Aid Advisers are responsible for supporting students seeking federal aid and other financing to attend school. The ideal candidate should demonstrate integrity, ethical behavior, and a high level of confidentiality while working with sensitive student data. Core functions of the job include interpreting, applying, and complying with federal, state, and institutional guidelines and regulations related to financial aid.


Specific Duties include:


  • Contribute to the overall financial aid goals of the school
  • Strong Computer skills
  • Work closely with Admissions Department to help facilitate student enrollment processing
  • Assist prospective (and continuing) students with FAFSA and applications
  • Package new enrollments and students that cross over into a new award year.
  • Process student verification for obtaining a valid (payable) ISIR.
  • Respond timely to student requests for assistance with financial aid matters
  • Assist student through exit counseling process.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all federal and state regulations.
  • Assist in the maintenance of student financial aid files.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma Required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • Experience in financial aid, school administration, loan origination or processing
  • Strong communication skills and ability to enforce policies in respectful manner
  • An interest in the beauty and wellness industry is a bonus!
