As a member of the Atlas AI UX Team, you will lead the creation and governance of AI UX patterns, guidelines, and best practices that product teams can adopt to accelerate delivery and ensure familiarity for our users. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, researchers, and engineering to translate user insights, as well as industry and competitive signals into reusable AI interaction models. You will work closely with other designers by providing design direction and guidance, and steward cross-product alignment. As a visible champion of AI UX, you'll educate teams, codify standards, and guide adoption across the portfolio. Above all, you pair curiosity with rigorous systems thinking to make complex, intelligent experiences feel approachable and trustworthy.
Responsibilities:

  • 30%- AI UX Strategy: Shape the way that PTC's products evolve as they add AI capabilities by defining a cross-product vision, principles, and strategy for AI UX.

  • 40%- Cross-Product Patterns & Guidelines: Perform user research, comparative and competitive analysis and translate findings and insights into documentation of reusable AI UX patterns for internal teams. Participate in design critiques, reviews, and working sessions with product, UX and engineering teams to gather feedback and align on shared goals.

  • 20%- Design Direction & Enablement: Provide actionable direction, critique, and hands-on guidance to designers implementing the patterns; review work for consistency and usability; unblock teams with artifacts, examples, and reference implementations.

  • 10% -Team Culture: Engage in team rituals, mentorship opportunities, and design-related events. Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture.

Skills and Knowledge:
  • Ability to perform in-depth comparative & competitive analysis to identify best-in-class AI UX pattern, learn from them, and reflect those insights more broadly within the PTC product development community.
  • User research skillset (planning, partnering, synthesizing) to validate AI interactions and inform pattern decisions.
  • Strong written & visual communication-able to codify patterns/guidelines clearly, with examples that teams can apply.
  • Requirements gathering & writing for when you need to inform and influence partner teams and execution of detailed design work (e.g. PTC's design systems team and others).
  • Design direction & coaching-provide clear guidance to designers contributing to cross-product AI UX work.
  • Curiosity: you're a student of the software space and keep pace with broader application design trends as well as emerging technical capabilities that can unlock better design outcomes for our users (e.g. AI platform capabilities, etc).
  • Expertise designing rich interactive applications for web and/or desktop; proficiency with modern design systems.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills; excels at orchestrating cross-team work and driving decisions.

Experience:
  • Led cross-product UX initiatives or standards programs (e.g., pattern libraries, guidelines, governance) in a large software product organization.
  • Translated research and competitive insights into reusable patterns and authored high-quality documentation/playbooks.
  • Directed designers at varying levels; partnered effectively with Product, Engineering, and Data/AI teams to land complex work.
  • Drove measurable UX improvements (consistency, task success, adoption, satisfaction) via pattern adoption.
