Boston Scientific is seeking an AI Platform System Administrator III to operate, secure and support enterprise AI platform environments across cloud, data and AI services. This role supports multi-tenant platforms used for analytics, AI/ML and generative AI workloads across sandbox, development, test and production environments.

In this role, you will support tenant onboarding, cloud resource provisioning, access management, AI service enablement, automation, monitoring, cost governance and operational support. You will collaborate with AI Platform Engineering, MLOps, Data Engineering, Cloud Platform, Security, DevOps, Architecture, Risk, Compliance and business teams to help ensure AI platforms are reliable, scalable, secure, compliant and cost-efficient in a regulated enterprise environment.

Work model, sponsorship, relocation:

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office Arden Hills, Minnesota or Marlborough, Massachussets at least three days per week. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Administer enterprise AI platform environments across AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Alibaba Cloud and other approved platforms.
  • Support onboarding of tenants, applications and business teams across sandbox, development, test and production environments.
  • Provision and manage cloud resources, including storage, compute, serverless services, databases, repositories, key vaults, roles, service accounts and integrations.
  • Enable and support approved AI/ML and generative AI services, including Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Amazon Bedrock, Snowflake Cortex, Snowpark and related capabilities.
  • Manage identity and access management (IAM), role-based access control (RBAC), groups, service accounts, secrets, authentication, tokens and identity integrations using least-privilege principles.
  • Automate provisioning, access management, reporting, cleanup, validation and operational checks using Terraform, Python, Bash, PowerShell, SQL, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep or equivalent tools.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, platform deployments, monitoring, observability, incident triage, ServiceNow tickets, change requests, escalations and production operations.
  • Support platform reliability activities, including releases, change execution, backups, disaster recovery, service-level agreement monitoring and operational readiness.
  • Implement cost tagging, tenant-level cost reporting, usage monitoring, chargeback and showback capabilities, and FinOps optimization practices.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures, runbooks, onboarding guides, troubleshooting guides, compliance evidence and other operational documentation.
  • Support privacy, security, architecture, risk, compliance, governance and audit review processes.
Required qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in cloud platform administration, infrastructure operations, DevOps, data platform administration or enterprise platform support.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud or data platform, such as AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Google Cloud Platform or Alibaba Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of IAM, RBAC, networking, monitoring, logging, secrets management, security controls and cloud operations.
  • Proven experience supporting sandbox, development, test and production environments.
  • Demonstrated experience with automation, scripting, infrastructure as code, CI/CD and IT service management tools, such as Terraform, Python, Bash, PowerShell, SQL, GitLab, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins and ServiceNow.
  • Ability to operate effectively in regulated, security-sensitive or highly governed enterprise environments.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Preferred experience supporting AI/ML or generative AI platforms, such as Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Amazon Bedrock, Snowflake Cortex, Snowpark, Amazon SageMaker or Databricks.
  • Preferred experience supporting multi-tenant platforms, including tenant lifecycle management, resource provisioning, cost segregation, usage reporting and self-service onboarding.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, Amazon EKS, Azure Kubernetes Service, serverless platforms, API management, container registries, AI observability, model monitoring or governance tools such as Fiddler.
  • Preferred experience with FinOps, tagging standards, budget monitoring, chargeback and showback practices, release management, disaster recovery or site reliability practices.
  • Relevant certifications in AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Terraform, Kubernetes, AI/ML, security or related technologies.
  • Experience in health care, life sciences, medical devices or a large global enterprise.
