Job description

We made history and now we work to transform the future - for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.
As a global leader in advanced mobility solutions, our outstanding team of legal professionals helps us navigate the continually changing legal and regulatory landscape. In our Office of General Counsel, you'll be part of an organization that collaborates with outside counsel to operate as a global team and deliver world-class legal, tax and audit services to client groups throughout the company.
In this position...
  • You will be a pivotal contributor to Ford's Responsible AI program, directly impacting how we operationalize ethical standards and regulatory requirements when implementing AI at Ford.
  • Fundamentally, you will strive to ensure our AI innovation is matched by rigorous, efficient governance and optimized operational workflows.
  • This versatile role empowers you to manage the full lifecycle of AI risk assessments, from initial intake to final approval.
  • We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world -- together.
  • At Ford, we're all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves?
  • As a global leader in advanced mobility solutions, our outstanding team of legal and data professionals helps us navigate the continually changing legal and regulatory landscape.
  • In our Office of General Counsel, you'll be part of an organization that collaborates with outside counsel to operate as a global team and deliver world-class legal, tax, and audit services to client groups throughout the company.
  • Acknowledging that AI governance is an evolving discipline, you will work to confirm that our global AI inventory is accurate, transparent, and in-line with the dynamic landscape of global AI regulations (such as the EU AI Act).

Responsibilities
What you'll do...
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of Ford's AI intake and assessment process, ensuring that internal teams follow established procedures for identifying and mitigating AI-related risks.
  • Manage and maintain the enterprise AI risk assessment inventory, ensuring all documentation is complete and up to date.
  • Lead the tracking and reporting of AI governance workflows, identifying bottlenecks and driving initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of our risk assessment cycles.
  • Utilize GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) tools, including OneTrust, to monitor compliance with internal AI policies and external regulatory standards, providing data-driven insights to leadership.
  • Serve as a core coordinator between GDIA (Global Data Insight & Analytics), Legal, and Privacy teams, translating complex governance requirements into actionable and operational tasks for technical stakeholders.

Qualifications
You'll have...
  • 5 years of relevant experience in project management, data governance, and/or legal operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex operational workflows and support adherence to technical processes.
  • Experience maintaining detailed documentation, inventories, or audit-ready records within a large enterprise.
  • Proficiency in OneTrust, with experience configuring assessment templates and intake logic.
  • Comfortable with new technologies, including a fundamental understanding of AI/ML concepts.

Even better, you may have...
  • Professional certifications such as CIPP (Certified Information Privacy Professional), AIGP (Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional), CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional), or specific AI governance credentials.
  • Direct experience with AI-specific frameworks (e.g., NIST AI Risk Management Framework, the EU AI Act, etc.) and understanding risks when deploying AI.
  • Proven experience in building or streamlining enterprise governance workflows within a global, multi-functional organization.
  • A proactive and analytical approach, with a focus on continuous process improvement and operational excellence in the "Responsible AI" space.
  • Genuine curiosity about how AI will transform our world.
  • Hands-on tinkering with frontier AI models to solve unique and complex challenges.

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder...or all of the above? No matter what you choose, we offer a work life that works for you, including:
  • Immediate medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverage
  • Flexible family care days, paid parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up child care and more
