Instructor, Agricultural Sciences-Systems Management

DEPARTMENT:

School of Agricultural Science

JOB DESCRIPTION:

PRIMARY DUTY:

The School of Agricultural Sciences at Northwest Missouri State University is seeking a faculty member to teach introductory and/or upper-level technology systems management courses that meet the needs of the School of Agricultural Sciences.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing undergraduate instruction in technology systems management. Ideal qualities: demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and curriculum development, student support, university service, and scholarly activity, ability to integrate technology and experiential learning into course materials, versatile and willing to serve as an integral part of a diversified and active team of agricultural sciences faculty.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Plan, organize, and provide instruction for 24-26 credit hours/year of introductory and/or upper-level systems management courses during the fall and spring trimesters including AC/DC electricity, sensor and/or precision technology, robotics and automation, facility management, welding/metal fabrication and/or equipment/machinery management.
  • Obtain and maintain NC3 certifications for teaching by attending classes and training.
  • Commitment to the development and execution of experiential learning opportunities for students.
  • Collaboration with private and governmental entities to meet specific training demands of regional employers.
  • Operate and maintain technologies relevant to the discipline.
  • Supervision and advisement of students and student organizations.
  • Assist with the development of student recruitment activities.
  • University service including committee work and participation in School of Agricultural Science activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: MS in Industrial Technology or Agricultural Systems Management or closely related field

Certification/License: N/A

Experience: Minimum of three years of hands-on industry experience or teaching involvement in the areas of AC/DC electricity, sensor and/or precision technology, robotics and automation, welding/metal fabrication, facility management and/or equipment/machinery management.

Skills: Effective interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills, demonstrated experience in industrial technology or systems management.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Typical university classroom, laboratory, and office conditions with weekly office hours required

Undergraduate and graduate students
