Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION: Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis. Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policyand course objectives.
Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning andleads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College, shows evidence of developingand implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with theirlearning (curricular).
Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complieswith College policies, campus guidelines and expectations.
Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labsand all learning environments.

Compensation: $47.35/contract hour

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must have strong workingknowledge of current technologies appropriate to the area of instruction and meet facultycredentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 for the specific area(s) of instruction. Conducts allactivities with an appreciation, respect, and promotion of diversity of people, styles, and views.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A qualified adjunct faculty member, including Dual Credit, Workforce Alignment, and a full-time faculty teaching outside their discipline, meets the technical course standard through one of
four routes:
Meets the full-time faculty discipline standard; orPossesses a Department of Labor, Bureau for Apprenticeship Training recognized
journeyman's card in the discipline directly related to credentials, certifications,andcompetencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR), and in journeyman statusfor two years or more with experience that is specifically linked to thecompetencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR)

And, possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught asindicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR); or
Possesses any specialized certifications or credentials required for the class beingtaught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR)
And, 5 years directly related work experience in the field that is specifically

Possesses a current Workplace Specialist License, Technology Education License(Technology and Engineering Education, Engineering and TechnologyEducation), or CTE: Trade & Industrial Engineer or Manufacturing Licensegranted by the Indiana Department of Education appropriate to course objectivesand directly linked to credentials, certifications, and competencies listed in theCurriculum of Record (COR)
And, possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught asindicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
AGRI 110 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching Introduction to Agricultural Business and Economicspossesses an earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, inAgricultural Economics, or Agriculture Education or a Master of Business Administration(MBA).
AGRI 111 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching Crop Production possesses an earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in Agronomy, or AgricultureEducation.
AGRI 112 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching Fundamentals of Horticulture possesses an earned master'sor higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in Horticulture, or AgricultureEducation.
AGRI 113 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching Animal Agriculture possesses an earned master's or higherdegree, from a regionally accredited institution, in Animal Science, or Agriculture Education.
AGRI 114 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching Introduction to Agricultural Systems possesses an earnedmaster's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in the fields of Agriculturaland Biological Engineering, Agricultural Systems, Management, Agronomy, Animal Science or
Agricultural Economics, or Agriculture Education.
AGRI 209 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching Agricultural Commodity Marketing meets the coursestandard through one of two routes:
Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, inthe fields of Agricultural and Biological Engineering, Agriculture Education, AgriculturalEconomics, Agricultural Systems Management, Agronomy, Animal Science, Botany,Horticulture, Plant Science, or other agriculture-related discipline; or Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution andholds a Series 3 commodity futures broker license from NASD.
AGRI 210 Course Standard:
A qualified faculty member teaching Management Methods for Agricultural Business possessesan earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in AgriculturalEconomics, or Agriculture Education, or a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
