Job description

Construction Manager – Multifamily Renovations AGM Management | Troy, MI (In-Person) | Travel Required

AGM Management is looking for an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our team and take ownership of renovation and capital improvement projects and purchasing across our multifamily portfolio. In this role, you'll guide projects from RFP through final completion — keeping work on schedule, on budget, and built to the standards our properties and residents deserve. This is a full-time, in-person position based out of our Troy, Michigan office, with periodic travel to project sites across multiple states.

What You'll Do

You will carry a portfolio of concurrent projects spanning markets and property types. Your days will be anchored in the full project lifecycle: developing RFPs, soliciting and leveling bids from contractors and vendors, and making award recommendations grounded in both cost and quality. You'll build and maintain project schedules and budgets, keeping documentation current and stakeholders informed throughout.

A key part of the role is coordination — between on-site property management teams, contractors, vendors, and ownership — so that everyone is aligned and issues get resolved before they become problems. You'll conduct site visits as needed to verify progress and quality firsthand, and you'll bring both the judgment to spot concerns early and the communication skills to escalate appropriately when needed.

Roles amp; Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple concurrent renovation and capital improvement projects from scope development through completion, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
  • Solicit and evaluate bids from contractors and vendors, making award recommendations grounded in cost, quality, and scope compliance
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors, vendors, on-site property management staff, and ownership throughout the project lifecycle
  • Conduct site visits to verify work progress, quality, and contract compliance; review and process pay applications, change orders, and invoices
  • Proactively identify and resolve project issues, escalating to ownership or leadership with clear recommendations when needed
  • Maintain thorough project documentation and provide regular status updates, budget summaries, and close-out records to all stakeholders
  • Maintain pricing and relationships with key suppliers

The Work Itself

The projects you'll manage span a broad range of capital improvement and renovation scopes, including roofing, siding,
