About the job:
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of automated mobile heavy equipment and robotics systems that improve safety and operational efficiency in demanding industrial environments. This role will focus on mechanical design, CAD modeling, fabrication drawings, and cross-functional engineering collaboration to support innovative automation technologies. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and passionate about robotics, automation, and safety-critical systems.
What you will do at Sogeti:
  • Create and manage CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings for automated equipment and robotic systems

  • Develop and maintain detailed fabrication drawings including GD&T, welding symbols, and sheet metal specifications
  • Collaborate with product owners and engineering teams to define system requirements and support design integration activities
  • Manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering revisions, and documentation updates across multiple projects
  • Support prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and validation of mechanical components and assemblies
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize designs for manufacturability, safety, and performance
  • Provide technical support for assembly documentation, maintenance guides, and continuous improvement initiatives

What you will bring:
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, robotics, automotive, automation, or related industries
  • Proficiency with CAD tools such as Onshape, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar modeling software
  • Experience creating mechanical drawings, assemblies, BOMs, and applying GD&T principles
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing methods, sheet metal design, welding processes, and mechanical systems
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering and product teams

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

At Capgemini, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. The base salary range for the tagged location is $70,000 - $135,000.
This role may be eligible for other compensation including variable compensation, bonus, or commission. Full time regular employees are eligible for paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and any other benefits to eligible employees.
