JOB SUMMARY

The Production Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating aggregate processing equipment and effectively monitoring all equipment under his/her control.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Operates aggregate processing mobile and/or stationary equipment and monitors all plant equipment accountable to him or her
  • Follows all company policies and local, state, and federal regulations (MSHA, etc.) for safe, environmentally conscious working procedures
  • Performs daily preandpost inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies
  • Feeds the plant(s) with desired specification products and maintains adequate feed of materials and stockpiles
  • Maintains the consistent and efficient operation of the plant(s)
  • Performs minor servicing and maintenance of equipment or facilities
  • Assists with major repairs as needed
  • Regular, reliable attendance at the worksite or assigned work location
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Must possess a safe work history
  • Must have a good record of behavior and attendance
  • Have a positive attitude and proactive approach to our safety program
  • Willingness to do other work as needed, including heavy labor
  • Ability to operate and monitor equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance and pre-shift inspections; repair and/or clean equipment as needed
  • Ability to comprehend and complete all needed paperwork in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ability to work collectively in a team environment
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including swing shift, graveyard shift, nights, overtime, and weekends as required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Lift objects of various dimensions and up to 75 lbs. of weight occasionally and 50 lbs. of weight frequently
  • Ability to work near, around, or on light or heavy equipment
  • Ability to repeatedly climb stairs and climb ladders
  • Ability to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects
  • Ability to use vibration tools frequently
  • Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions
  • Ability to repeatedly reach, squat, and tolerate prolonged standing/walking/sitting
  • Ability to repeatedly walk on uneven surfaces
