Job Title: Equipment Operator
Location: 2251 Silver Creek Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76108
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Position Type: Full time
Typical Work Schedule: 6:00am-4:00pm
Pay Range: $17.00-$18.00
About the role:
As an EquipmentOperator in the Compost Department at Silver Creek Materials, you are responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move, unload, and organize compost products and raw materials throughout the facility. This position supports daily production operations, ensures efficient material flow, and helps maintain a safe, productive work environment at one of the largest composting and recycling facilities in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
What you'll do:
  • Safely operate forklifts and other equipment to transport compost, mulch, and related materials.
  • Unload trucks while ensuring product accuracy and quality.
  • Conduct daily pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas in the compost yard and loading zones.
  • Follow all company safety procedures as well as OSHA/MSHA regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet production and customer service goals.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Previous forklift or heavy equipment operating experience preferred.
  • Experience working in outdoor industrial, construction, landscaping, recycling, or aggregate environments is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.
