Field Service Technician

Department: Service Reports To: Service Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary

The Field Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing rock crushing, screening, conveying, and material handling equipment at customer job sites and Goodfellow service facilities. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety and customer service. This position requires frequent travel and may require operating a company service truck. Employees assigned to operate DOT-regulated vehicles must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate if required for assigned vehicle operation. This is a safety-sensitive position. Employees are expected to perform all work in accordance with OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and Goodfellow Corporation safety policies.

Essential Functions
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain crushers, screens, conveyors, feeders, wash plants, and related aggregate equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and scheduled service.
  • Replace wear parts, bearings, motors, belts, rollers, shafts, and mechanical components.
  • Install, splice, align, and repair conveyor belts.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, cutting, grinding, and structural repairs.
  • Read and interpret hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics.
  • Complete service reports, warranty documentation, and work orders.
  • Operate company service vehicles and complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
  • Participate in after-hours emergency service, overtime, weekends, and on-call rotations as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three (3) years of experience repairing heavy equipment, diesel equipment, industrial machinery, construction equipment, or aggregate equipment preferred.
  • Basic welding and fabrication experience.
  • Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate if required.
  • Authorized to work in the United States. Goodfellow participates in E-Verify.
Work Environment

Work is performed outdoors and in shop environments with exposure to varying weather, heavy equipment, noise, dust, grease, and vibration. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members is essential.
