Job description

About Technology at Bridgewater
The Technology team at Bridgewater engineers' systems to understand the world. These systems synthesize and industrialize our global understanding into a hive mind of macroeconomic knowledge which enables us to educate and collaborate with the world's most influential central banks and policy makers and carefully and strategically manage the world's most important capital. Our technologists are engineering highly available, high performing and highly secure cloud platforms and infrastructure which support and scale our investing operations.
About the Role
Bridgewater is re-architecting how engineering work gets done through agentic systems. We are looking for a Sr. Product Manager to define and drive this transformation.
This role sits at the center of a rapidly evolving, high-priority initiative: building a cohesive agentic platform across a fragmented ecosystem of internal systems and best-in-class external tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, CLI interfaces). You will partner directly with senior engineering leadership to shape the long-term vision and roadmap for how agentic workflows scale across the firm, starting with Software Engineers to Investors.
This is a high-judgment, high-ownership role. You will define direction, bring clarity to in a highly ambiguous environment, and align teams around a coherent strategy in a space that is still being invented.
If you are successful in this role: 1) a clear, opinionated roadmap that defines the future of agentic engineering at Bridgewater is built, 2) a cohesive platform strategy across internal and external tools exists, 3) broad adoption of agentic workflows across engineering and investment teams is evident and welcomed, and 4) engineers and investors experience meaningful improvements in productivity, reliability, and automation.
You Will Drive the Following Responsibilities
Set Direction in an Emerging Space
  • Define "Agentic Engineering" at Bridgewater and how it evolves over the next several years
  • Own and extend the product roadmap beyond near-term execution into a durable, long-term strategy
  • Bring structure and coherence to a fast-moving, ambiguous landscape

Drive Firmwide Adoption of Agentic Workflows
  • Lead the rollout of agentic solutions across the company.
  • Shape how individuals across the firm interact with AI to be productive in their work - research, analysis, decision making, coding, code review, operations, and incident response
  • Define and track what "good" looks like for agent quality, adoption, and impact across audiences

Build a Cohesive Platform from a Disperse Ecosystem
  • Define how internally built systems and third-party tools integrate into a seamless experience
  • Drive strategy across multiple interfaces (Slack, IDEs, CLI, browser-based environments) and the connector strategy across what we build, wrap, or absorb from emerging ecosystems
  • Drive consolidation of fragmented infrastructure (code hosting, dev environments) where it unblocks the agentic future
  • Partner with engineering to scale internal systems and enable persistent, conversational agent workflows
  • Own the product strategy for secure agentic sandboxed compute

Enable Autonomous Systems
  • Help design systems where agents move beyond assistance into action
  • Push toward a future where agentic systems are embedded across the SDLC and operational stack
  • Shape how planning gates and approval workflows evolve as agents take more sensitive actions

Act as a Force Multiplier for Engineering Leadership
  • Translate technical direction into clear product narratives and priorities
  • Align multiple teams and workstreams, cutting through duplication and organizational friction
  • Communicate effectively with both senior leaders and deeply technical individual contributors
  • Partner across Tech, Investment Engineering, Security, Compliance, and Infrastructure to drive aligned execution

Make High-Leverage Decisions
  • Identify where to build vs. partner vs. buy
  • Evaluate emerging tools and vendors in a rapidly changing ecosystem
  • Ensure security and platform integrity are first-class considerations - including entitlement boundaries, data classification, and write-path controls

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in a rigorous technical environment, with the majority of that time in a Product Management role
  • Experience working in a variety of team sizes and maturity. A big advantage to have worked in large well-established teams, in addition to small, more ambiguous teams.
  • Strong product judgment and communication skills, including the ability to translate technical complexity into clear direction
  • Proven ability to set and drive multi-year product strategy in ambiguous, fast-moving domains
  • Strong technical fluency in developer ecosystems and AI-native tools (e.g., SDLC, Claude Code, Cursor, MCP, agentic systems)
  • Experience building platform or ecosystem products that serve diverse user populations, including integrating third-party tools and making build vs. buy decisions
  • Experience navigating data classification, security boundaries, and write-path controls in product design
  • Comfort with organizational change - including retiring legacy systems and driving consolidation across teams
  • Track record of partnering with senior stakeholders and aligning teams across complex organizations

Location Requirements
The anticipated onsite requirement for this role is four days per week in office. The primary location for this role our Westport, CT office with increasing presence in our NYC office over time.
Compensation Band
The compensation range for this role is $600K - $800K inclusive of base salary, discretionary bonus, and potential long-term incentive. The expected base salary for this role is between 50-60% of the total compensation.
Bridgewater Employee Benefits
One of our core priorities at Bridgewater is to enable our employees to build a great life and career, and we believe our benefits are an important extension of that philosophy. As such, currently Bridgewater offers a competitive suite of benefits including:
  • Health insurance with 100% premium covered and access to additional concierge medical services
  • 401(k) plan with generous employer match
  • Paid time off, including fully paid parental leave and a competitive PTO package
  • Workplace flexibility and access to back up childcare
  • Financial assistance for family building support, including adoption and egg freezing
  • Workplace wellness, including on-site gyms, free meals and healthy snacks, and meditation rooms
  • An engaged and active community that includes many company events, affinity networks, and extracurricular interest groups

Bridgewater reserves the right to change its current benefits program at any time, in a manner that is consistent with applicable federal and state regulations

Our Culture
Our culture is anchored in excellence, meaning constant improvement, and it is deeply tied to our mission. Because markets are objective, competitive, and getting smarter everyday, we need to keep rapidly improving to have any chance of beating them. Truth is our most essential tool for engaging with the markets and constantly improving because once you know what's true about your problems and opportunities, you can determine how to get better. Valuing truth means being transparent about your decision-making and mistakes, giving and receiving feedback with humility, and fighting for the best answers over hierarchy, ego, or self-interest. Operating this way is hard - it's only possible because we build meaning in our work and relationships. This meaning comes from the audacity of the mission, and the joy of working alongside people who make you a better version of yourself. The culture, like Bridgewater itself, is always evolving. In 1997 our founder Ray Dalio wrote down his lessons, starting with a Philosophy Statement which remains our foundation. This later evolved into a set of 300+ Principles. In 2022, when Ray transitioned the company, we re-underwrote several of those principles and evolved others, with a specific focus on Meritocracy. Today the culture sits, alongside our people, as our most important edge. When we get it right, it's the engine that powers everything else.
