Agentforce is a software platform used within insurance agencies to manage policies and client data, whereas an Insurance Agent is a licensed professional who sells insurance policies. While both are integral to the insurance industry, Agentforce focuses on agency management, and Insurance Agents focus on client sales and service.

What is an Agentforce?

Agentforce typically refers to a team or network of agents working together within an organization, often in industries like insurance or real estate. These agents collaborate to provide services, support clients, and achieve business goals. The term can also refer to specific platforms or agencies that coordinate independent agents for greater efficiency and reach. The structure and function of an Agentforce may vary depending on the company and industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an insurance agent (Agentforce), and why are they important?

To excel as an insurance agent, you need strong sales acumen, product knowledge, and typically a relevant state insurance license. Familiarity with CRM software, quoting platforms, and digital communication tools is important for managing clients and sales pipelines. Outstanding interpersonal skills, persistence, and active listening help build trust and long-term relationships with clients. These skills are crucial for meeting sales targets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering tailored solutions in a competitive insurance market.

About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn't a buzzword - it's a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You're in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

ABOUT THE TEAM
Salesforce's Aerospace & Defense and Government System Integrator practice sits at the intersection of enterprise cloud and mission-critical national security programs. We serve defense primes (Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Boeing, Northrop Grumman), government SIs (Leidos, SAIC, Booz Allen, Accenture Federal), and the broader A&D sector with solutions that meet NIST, FedRAMP High, CMMC, and DoD Impact Level requirements-and increasingly, with agentic AI capabilities that deliver measurable program value.
THE ROLE
We need an SE who fluently speaks both the language of complex enterprise programs and modern cloud architecture-and who can build, not just present. You'll serve as the technical trusted advisor and deal quarterback across A&D primes and large Federal SI accounts: uncovering program requirements, architecting solutions that fit within complex compliance and classification constraints, and building proof-of-concept environments that move programs from interest to commitment. Agentic AI is core to how we're positioning Salesforce in this market-you need to be able to design and prototype Agentforce solutions for A&D use cases, not just describe them.
WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Engage directly with A&D primes and large Federal SIs to understand program goals, mission requirements, and technical constraints-including OT/IT convergence, sustainment operations, and supply chain complexity
  • Map customer challenges to the Salesforce platform: Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, MuleSoft, Tableau, Agentforce, Data Cloud, and GovCloud+
  • Design, build, and deliver compelling, tailored demos and POC solutions for A&D/SI use cases: program management, logistics and sustainment, acquisition lifecycle management, case/investigation management, supply chain visibility, and partner/subcontractor operations
  • Architect and prototype Agentforce solutions for A&D environments-including agent design for program workflows, grounding/RAG strategies for controlled technical data, multi-agent orchestration, and production readiness assessment for complex program environments
  • Clearly articulate Salesforce's security and compliance posture to technical evaluators, CISOs, and program security officers
  • Support RFI/RFP responses by contributing technical content, demo scenarios, and architecture documentation
  • Partner with Account Executives, Capture Managers, and Customer Success in a team-selling environment to support pursuit strategy and pipeline development
  • Build reusable POC assets, playbooks, and best-practice guides tuned to A&D and Federal SI delivery patterns
  • Feed structured Voice of the Customer insights back to Salesforce Product; inform messaging and plays with Product Marketing

WHAT YOU BRING
Required

  • 7+ years of experience as a Solution or Sales Engineer for a CRM, enterprise SaaS, or mission IT company-with A&D or Federal SI customers strongly preferred
  • Hands-on Agentforce, Data Cloud, and Salesforce Platform builder: able to prototype agentic workflows, automation, and integration patterns from scratch
  • Practical AI fluency: working knowledge of LLMs, RAG/grounding, agentic system design, and production behavior-including safety, reliability, and governance considerations relevant to complex A&D program environments
  • Deep discovery and MVP scoping: able to run technical and business discovery with both prime program offices and SI delivery teams, define agentic use cases, set measurable success criteria, and produce a feasible architecture and activation plan
  • Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks: CMMC given the prime/SI customer base
  • Strong written, verbal, and whiteboard communication skills-able to engage C-suite primes executives and hands-on delivery engineers with equal fluency
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, team-selling environment managing multiple complex pursuits simultaneously
  • U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance preferred
  • Ability to travel domestically, including to customer sites, military installations, and industry events

Preferred

  • Salesforce certifications: Administrator, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Platform Developer, or Public Sector Solutions
  • Experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, or equivalent full-stack engineering background; comfort with SQL and/or Python
  • Experience with agentic engineering tooling (Cursor, Claude Code, Agentforce Vibes, or similar)
  • Familiarity with GovCloud, AWS GovCloud, or Azure Government environments
  • Understanding of OT/IT convergence in aerospace manufacturing, defense sustainment, and complex supply chain environments
  • Experience with prime-led SI teaming arrangements and subcontract structures
  • Background supporting CMMC compliance assessments or C3PAO audit preparation for prime or subcontractor customers

EDUCATION
B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, required.
