Job description

High and Rubish Insurance Agency is a well-established independent insurance agency in Chapel Hill, NC. We are looking for a career-oriented individual to join the agency as an in-person multi-lines producer.
PRIMARY ROLE:
Sell insurance to qualified prospects to ensure continued profitable agency growth and reach specific goals. Prospect for new clients, sell additional coverage to existing clients, and retain existing assigned accounts.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
Develop and implement an approved sales business plan with formal coaching based on global agency sales goals. Meet established annual sales goals.
DUTIES:
  • Actively contact prospects, schedule appointments, make sales presentations, and close on new business accounts. Balance production to achieve desired mix of business.
  • Maintain prospect list of clients of agency's targeted business
  • Complete applications for Account Managers to submit to appropriate markets
  • Arrange payment terms for all accounts in accordance with agency credit and collections policy
  • Cooperate in gathering information on assigned accounts for renewal marketing and handling per agency procedures. Deliver policies and/or binders on assigned accounts, following agency guidelines and time frames.
  • Attend sales seminars, company sales meetings, and educational activities needed to improves sales techniques and stay up to date on the latest developments in the marketplace
  • Participate in and organize special projects
  • Work with existing agency personnel to jointly accomplish sales goals
  • Diligently maintain records in the agency management system, including documenting and attaching all files, notes, and correspondence

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION
  • Appropriate state license(s) preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated, measurable sales success
  • A designation, including AAI, CIC, ARM, or CPCU is highly desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge of all lines of personal and commercial insurance, including sophisticated and less common coverages, especially products that the agency carries, is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and understanding of sales methodology is required. Understanding of prospecting software tools is desirable.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment and risk management techniques
  • College degree highly desirable

Our agency desires a sales-minded candidate who will produce business over many years. Prior insurance knowledge is preferable, however formal training would be scheduled for the right career-oriented candidate.
