Director, Agency & Carrier Performance

Primary Position Objective

Under general direction, the Director, Agency & Carrier Performance provides strategic leadership for sales and service execution across agency and thirdparty distribution models. This role is accountable for driving performance, quality, and operational effectiveness within a multicarrier, property & casualty (P&C) insurance environment.

The Director serves as a senior external representative for GEICO, engaging directly with carrier partners and agencies to align expectations, resolve issues, and strengthen longterm relationships with minimal oversight. While operating within a regulated environment, the focus of this role is on business outcomes, partner performance, and sustainable growth, balancing risk management with practical execution.

Key Responsibilities

Agency, Carrier & ThirdParty Performance

  • Provide strategic oversight of performance across multiple carrier relationships within an agency distribution model.
  • Act as a primary GEICO representative to carrier partners, leading discussions related to performance outcomes, operational alignment, and continuous improvement with a high degree of independence.
  • Build and maintain strong, credible relationships with agencies and carriers to ensure consistent execution and alignment with business objectives.
  • Evaluate agency and carrier performance, effectiveness, and return on investment, recommending strategic adjustments to maximize business impact.
  • Partner with internal leaders to align agency and carrier execution with enterprise sales, service, and growth strategies.

Risk Awareness & Quality Enablement

  • Maintain awareness of regulatory, licensing, and carrier requirements as they relate to agencydistributed P&C business, ensuring they are appropriately incorporated into operational practices.
  • Monitor complaint trends, audit outcomes, and quality indicators to identify themes that may impact business performance or partner relationships.
  • Drive timely remediation and alignment when issues arise, escalating strategically when broader business or carrier impacts are identified.

Data Analysis & Business Insights

  • Leverage performance, quality, and partner data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement across agency and carrier channels.
  • Prepare and deliver executivelevel insights and recommendations related to agency performance, carrier health, and operational risk.
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable guidance for senior leadership and external partners.

Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement

  • Review and evolve agency and carrierdriven processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability across the distribution model.
  • Lead change initiatives in response to business growth, carrier expectations, or operational opportunities.
  • Measure the effectiveness of changes postimplementation and adjust strategies to ensure sustained results.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on performance trends, risks, and opportunities across agency and carrier partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Significant experience in Property & Casualty insurance, with deep exposure to agency distribution and multicarrier environments.
  • Demonstrated success managing and influencing multiple carrier relationships within an agency model.
  • Proven ability to represent an organization externally with credibility and confidence, including direct engagement with carrier partners and agencies without extensive oversight.
  • Strong leadership experience operating in complex, matrixed environments.
  • Highly developed analytical skills with the ability to translate performance and risk data into strategic action.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience engaging senior executives and external partners.
