They often collaborate with farmers, agronomists, and businesses to recommend and apply chemical solutions that enhance crop yields and protect against pests or diseases.

What does an ag chemical do?

A typical day in an Ag Chemical position often involves visiting farms or agricultural sites to assess crop conditions, recommending appropriate chemical solutions, and ensuring application processes comply with safety and environmental standards. You may spend time educating growers on product use, monitoring field trials, collecting data for analysis, and troubleshooting pest or weed issues alongside agronomy teams. Collaboration is frequent, as you’ll work closely with sales representatives, farmers, regulatory agencies, and other agricultural professionals. The work can be a mix of office-based planning and hands-on fieldwork, providing variety and the chance to apply both technical and interpersonal skills.
