Job description

Madison School & Community Recreation (MSCR) is Madison's public recreation provider. MSCR offers a wide variety of athletic, recreational, arts and enrichment activities and classes for all ages in an accessible, inclusive setting. Programs include swimming instruction, MSCR on the Move, arts & enrichment classes, youth summer camps, sports camps & clinics, adult & 50+ fitness, adult sport leagues including pickleball, softball and tennis, and a wide variety of outdoor pursuits including paddling sports, pontoon trips, camping, orienteering and challenge courses.ย 
As a department of the Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD), MSCR also provides afterschool enrichment activities, clubs and sports as well as summer programming in Madison elementary, middle and high schools, Allied Learning Center and Meadowood Neighborhood Center. Afterschool clubs and sports include: arts & enrichment, homework/academic clubs, drama, dance, skiing, soccer, basketball, volleyball, cross country and much more!

Program Description:ย 

MSCR offers After School Programming at all 12 MMSD Middle Schools. MSCR Middle School After School programs are geared towards student choice and operate on a "drop-in" model. Program leaders should have the desire and passion to lead a variety of activities, including but not limited to art and crafts, STEM, youth sports, social-emotional learning, and daily homework help for youth in grades 6-8.

Job Description & Duties:ย 

Supervise students attending After School (including during sporting events & field trips).
Plan and lead a variety of after school clubs (SEL, STEM, Sports, Cooking, Academic, Gaming, etc.).
Ensure students are following program rules and expectations.
Create an environment that allows students to feel safe and respected at all times.
Communication with students, families and school day staff.
Maintain appropriate attendance.

End Date: 5/28/2027

Work Location:ย Badger Rock, Black Hawk, Cherokee, Gillespie, Hamilton, Toki, O'Keeffe, Sennett, Sherman, Spring Harbor, Whitehorse, Wrightย 

Hours/week:ย 10-18 hours per week

Work hours:ย Varies - typically Monday-Friday 3:30pm-6:00pm
