Job Summary
We're seeking qualified applicants for regular part-time After-School Leader positions with the County After School Activities (CASA) program and Youth After-School (YAS) program. CASA and YAS are highly respected after-school programs serving Loudoun County's elementary and middle school-aged youth for over 30 years. Our team celebrates diversity, whether cultural, linguistic or ability related to ensure every child feels welcome, respected and included. An After-School Leader assists in the planning and implementation of recreational activities such as indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts, holiday-themed and special projects, as well as quieter activities like snacks and homework time for children. A successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for working and nurturing youth.
We are currently hiring for the following location(s):
โ€ข Positions are available at various sites in Loudoun County. Applicants must be willing to work at multiple programming sites. Options are listed in the supplemental questions of the application.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
โ€ข Lead recreational programs for children by following curriculum, complying with safety compliance standards, training, performance, and conflict resolution applications.
โ€ข Facilitate activities, group games, and reading time following curriculum plans and the needs of the children.
โ€ข Provide a welcoming and safe environment for children and assist with daily health checks, and handle food service items and emergency procedures.
โ€ข Other essential job functions unique to the position and department assignment may be carried out.
Please include all employment and volunteer experience working with or supervising children in childcare, recreation, and educational settings.
The CASA After-School Leader is eligible for a $3,000.00 hiring bonus in accordance with the County's Hiring and Retention Bonus Program.
*The CASA program operates Monday-Friday, 2:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m., and the YAS program operates Monday-Friday 3:15 pm - 6:15 pm, following the Loudoun County's Public School's academic (10 Months) year calendar. *
Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; six (6) months of program experience with children.
Preferred Qualifications:
โ€ข One-year programmatic experience, including previous supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
โ€ข Skilled in using iPad, phone, and laptop.
โ€ข Bilingual skills preferred.
Job Contingencies and Special Requirements
Must undergo pre-employment, criminal, and fingerprinting background verifications with satisfactory results. It is required that all applicants have First Aid (Infant through Adult) and CPR certifications either before they start working or within 30 days of starting. Pass TB screening questions prior to hire and every two years thereafter. A sworn disclosure statement or affirmation must be completed upon hiring and then every five (5) years thereafter, disclosing any criminal convictions or pending criminal charges.
