Job description

The YMCA is currently seeking a part-time 2025 school yearCDL Bus Driver for our Child Development program sites. The CDL Bus Driver provides safe transportation to and from program sites within the Boise area while maintaining a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals.

Work Location: 950 W State Street, Boise 83702

The Treasure Valley Family YMCA's Child Development programs support children in their ongoing growth to ensure that they are ready for the next educational milestone, whether that be preschool, kindergarten, middle school, or high school.

Schedule:

This is a part-time position averaging 10 hours weekly. This position is for the entire school year. Schedule requirements are flexible with the greatest scheduling need Monday through Friday, 2:30pm-4:30pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive YMCA bus safely according to YMCA policies and procedures and state laws.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with participants, families, staff, and volunteers.
  • Create a safe environment in which others feel welcome and respected.
  • Ensure YMCA bus rules are announced and followed.
  • Complete thorough pre- and post- trip checks each day.
  • Clean out YMCA bus vehicle each day.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Minimum 1 year bus driver experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to meet YMCA transportation/driving requirements.
  • Must be able to engage others in conversations and make all people feel welcome.
  • Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.

REQUIRED LICENSURE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS:
Valid Idaho Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Boise City and/or Idaho State Childcare License - Prerequisite upon hire - 14-day compliance period.
Pediatric CPR/AED - Prerequisite upon hire - 14-day compliance period.
First Aid - Prerequisite upon hire - 14-day compliance period.
