Based in Elmhurst, IL, you’ll guide a high-performing team that designs and optimizes gear systems for our products. Picture your day: a stand-up with your engineers to align on milestones; a quick review of CAD models and analysis results; a cross-functional huddle to integrate gearing into larger assemblies; an afternoon spent coaching team members, steering timelines and budgets, and driving continuous improvement across design and manufacturing. What you’ll own
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers delivering advanced gear system designs.
  • Plan and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and resources to hit delivery targets.
  • Collaborate with product, manufacturing, and quality teams to embed gear solutions into broader designs.
  • Champion continuous improvement to elevate product performance and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide actionable feedback and coaching.
  • Track industry trends and emerging gear technologies to inform roadmaps.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and teamwork.
What you bring
  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (or related); Master’s preferred.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience, including 2+ years managing or leading teams.
  • Expertise in gear design, analysis, and manufacturing processes.
  • History of taking engineering programs from concept through successful launch.
  • Clear, persuasive communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency with CAD and engineering analysis tools.
  • Proficiency working in a manufacturing environment.
