Job Summary

The Lead Product Quality Data Analyst plays a critical role in shaping data-driven decision making across Harley-Davidson's global Quality organization. This role leads the strategy, development, and delivery of advanced analytics that drive improvements in product quality, warranty performance, and customer satisfaction.

This individual acts as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, translating complex data into actionable insights, influencing cross-functional decisions, and enabling proactive identification and resolution of quality issues across product development, manufacturing, and field performance.


The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, demonstrates strong business acumen, and is passionate about uncovering the "why" behind data to drive meaningful outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and lead analytics strategy for warranty and quality data
  • Establish best-in-class approaches for data visualization and user interaction
  • Act as global SME for product quality analytics

Analytics & Insights

  • Apply advanced analytics techniques, including predictive modeling and machine learning, to anticipate quality risks
  • Develop scalable data solutions and automate data pipelines for improved efficiency
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and governance across quality systems
  • Leverage modern analytics tools and AI capabilities to enhance insight generation

Data Product & Reporting

  • Design and deliver dashboards, KPIs, and self-service analytics tools
  • Standardize quality metrics across global operations
  • Improve accessibility and usability of data across stakeholders

Operational Support

  • Support investigations into emerging quality concerns
  • Lead warranty review cadence and decision-making forums
  • Enable data-driven problem-solving (e.g., 8D, root cause analysis)

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Warranty, and Supplier Quality
  • Influence decision-making at multiple organizational levels
  • Coach and mentor analysts and business stakeholders
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Education Specifications

A bachelor's degree in a relevant quantitative discipline preferred. Advanced training in statistics, predictive analytics, business intelligence or a related field is preferred.

Experience Requirements

This position typically requires 8+ years of experience in data analytics, preferably in manufacturing or product quality environments.  In addition, the successful candidate will have demonstrated the following:

  • Proven track record of influencing business decisions through data insights
  • Experience supporting quality systems, warranty analysis, or field performance analytics strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work in ambiguous environments and lead cross-functional initiatives
  • Proven expertise with various quantitative techniques, data formats, and methodologies   
    • Data Visualization: Power BI, Tableau
    • Data Processing: SQL, Alteryx, Python, R
    • Statistical Methods: Reliability analysis (Weibull), regression, hypothesis testing
    • Data Platforms: Experience working with large, complex datasets across multiple systems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead without authority and influence cross-functional teams
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership and driving actionable outcomes
  • Ability to translate complex analytics into clear business narratives
  • General knowledge of manufacturing processes (assembly, machining, welding) a plus.

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
