You start by mapping out a learning plan for new and experienced welders who support our shipyard operations. You gather technical updates from engineers and field teams, choose the most effective delivery methods, and turn that insight into course content, training materials, and visual aids. In the afternoon, you facilitate a hands-on session, observe performance, and capture real-time feedback. You close the day by refining lesson plans, updating criteria to measure training impact, and coordinating future sessions—sometimes partnering with other technical trainers to go deeper on specialty topics.
Role focusWith a team of more than 25,000—including third-, fourth-, and fifth‑generation shipbuilders—we design, build, and refuel U.S. Navy nuclear aircraft carriers and are one of only two providers of U.S. Navy nuclear submarines. For 135 years, our people—spanning skilled trades, project managers, engineers, software developers, solution architects, technical SMEs, and system users—have advanced the frontier of technology, manufacturing, and systems integration to deliver the world’s most powerful and survivable naval vessels.
Growth, culture, and recognitionWe’re recognized among America’s top large employers and are guided by values that prioritize safety and well‑being. Wherever you sit—on the deckplate or behind the design—expect a supportive environment, competitive rewards, and continuous learning that propels your career.
BenefitsIf shaping the next generation of maritime welders excites you, we’d love to connect.
