Position Overview

Spring Mountain Counseling Services is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor to enhance our dynamic team. As a full-time remote therapist, you will provide specialized mental health support to individuals navigating the complex aftermath of trauma. This role places a strong emphasis on serving patients with conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders, allowing you to make a profound impact on their emotional recovery journey.

Work Environment

This position allows for a flexible work-from-home setup, with the expectation that our therapist will effectively engage with clients using telehealth platforms. While the therapeutic sessions will primarily occur remotely, there may be opportunities for in-person consultations and team meetings within our Arlington clinic as needed. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments during initial consultations to guide treatment plans tailored to each individual’s history and needs.
  • Develop and execute personalized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery and resilience, utilizing best practices in trauma-informed care.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including but not limited to Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions to assist patients in processing their trauma, learning coping strategies, and promoting long-term healing.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure a holistic, integrated approach to patient care.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention and support for patients experiencing trauma-related emergencies, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Educate both patients and their families about trauma responses and coping mechanisms while directing them to the available resources for extended support.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA and other relevant ethical standards.
  • Actively participate in team consultations, case reviews, and ongoing professional development workshops focused on emerging trauma therapy techniques.
  • Consistently stay informed on the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to enhance therapeutic efficacy and patient outcomes.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your clinical focus will be on individuals who are grappling with the aftereffects of trauma. This includes clients suffering from PTSD, those dealing with complex trauma episodes, and individuals affected by dissociative disorders. Our approach prioritizes generating a sense of safety and trust with patients, allowing you to create a therapeutic alliance that fosters healing.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in Texas.
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in providing mental health support, ideally focused on trauma-related issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of trauma-related disorders and effective trauma-informed treatment modalities.
  • Ability to conduct assessments and implement treatment plans according to proven therapeutic frameworks.
