Job description

Primary Purpose:  Work as instructional support staff ensuring students receive educational and enrichment opportunities outside of school hours, After-School and summer camp.  Qualifications: 
  • Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED
 
Special Knowledge/Skills:
CPR Certification Preferred
Mental Health 1st Aid Certification Preferred
Experience:
1 year of experience working with children preferred Major Responsibilities and Duties: The essential functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the characteristic duties, knowledge, skills, and abilities noted herein, however, this list represents EXAMPLES ONLY, and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions found in this job description.  1.Implement and/or prepare lessons and activities to meet goals and objectives of the program  2.Adhere to district safety guidelines  3.Communicate effectively with parents, students, program staff, administrators, etc.  4.Participate in activities for building positive relationships with students and staff  5.Must be flexible, motivated, creative and willing to learn new skills  6.Must be able to work collaboratively with other after school program staff, school day teachers, parents, administrators, etc. to meet the goals and expectations of the program.  7.Hours: Elementary 2:30 - 6:30 p.m.  Secondary 3:00 - 7:00 p.m.    Communication

   Professional Growth and Development:  Participate in workshop, monthly meetings, and professional development opportunities to improve job performance while creating a high quality After-School program    Policy Implementation: None  Supervisory Responsibilities: None  Working Conditions-Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: The employee is expected to maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing, moving small media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment are required while performing the duties of this job.

*Minimum Salary $12.00 per hour
