After School Tutor
Reports to: Extended Learning Program Manager/Principal
Position Type: Part-time
Salary: $26.00/Hour
Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 3:30 PM-5:00 PM
Wednesday (school early release day) 1:00 PM-5:00 PM
Position Summary:
We are seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic After School Tutor to support our youth enrichment program. The After School Tutor will assist with supervising students, facilitating daily activities, and creating a safe and engaging environment for children after regular school hours.
Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Supervise and engage children (typically ages 4-14) in a variety of structured and unstructured activities
โ€ข Assist with homework help and academic support as needed
โ€ข Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment
โ€ข Support lead staff in planning and implementing recreational, educational, and arts-based activities
โ€ข Assist with daily setup and cleanup of program areas
โ€ข Monitor student behavior and follow program discipline procedures
โ€ข Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents/guardians as needed
โ€ข Maintain accurate attendance records and incident reports
Qualifications:
โ€ข High school diploma or equivalent required; 24-48 units in college coursework in education, child development, or related fields preferred
โ€ข Experience working with children in a school, camp, or recreational setting
โ€ข Ability to manage groups of children in a calm and patient manner
โ€ข Strong interpersonal and communication skills
โ€ข CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
โ€ข Must pass a background check and meet all licensing requirements
Physical Requirements:
โ€ข Ability to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities
โ€ข Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and remain on feet for extended periods
