Monday through Friday 1:45 - 6pm, 12:45 – 6pm on Broward County Schools Early Release Days, and 8:45am – 5pm on Broward Schools Employee Planning Days

Location: Bright Horizons School in Deerfield Beach

Pay Rate: $20.60/hr.

What does a Counselor do?

  • Provides direct supervision, care, and teaching to children with Developmental Disabilities who have moderate to severe behavioral issues
  • Ensures a safe, stimulating, nurturing and therapeutic learning environment
  • Provides basic care in all areas of hygiene and toileting, as needed
  • Engages children in fun, meaningful activities
  • Assists children to manage their behaviors through prevention strategies, implementation of individual behavior plans, de-escalation and crisis-intervention strategies

What are the requirements?

  • You have a high school diploma or GED
  • You have a minimum of 1 year of professional experience working with children (preferably children with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges)
  • You’re a positive, compassionate, and supportive person

When can you start? We are looking for new team members to start paid Training mid to end of July to be ready for the first day of Afterschool on August 10, 2026!
