About the Position
SciGenie is looking for an enthusiastic and dependable After-School STEM & Robotics Instructor to join our team in the Ashburn/Aldie area.
If you enjoy working with children and have an interest in science, technology, engineering, robotics, or education, we would love to hear from you! Our instructors lead fun, hands-on after-school activities that introduce elementary-aged students to STEM through experiments, building challenges, robotics, and creative problem-solving.
No previous STEM teaching experience is required. Paid training, curriculum, lesson plans, and materials are provided by SciGenie.

Schedule
Candidates should be available:
  • Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays
  • Approximately 2:00 PM–3:30 PM
  • Programs are located at schools in the Ashburn/Aldie, Virginia area
This position is ideal for college students, education/STEM majors, teachers, substitute teachers, retired educators, and professionals looking for rewarding part-time afternoon work.

Responsibilities
  • Lead engaging, hands-on science and robotics activities
  • Teach lessons using SciGenie-provided curriculum and materials
  • Help students build, experiment, problem-solve, and explore STEM concepts
  • Create a positive, energetic, and safe learning environment
  • Manage small groups of elementary-aged students
  • Set up and clean up materials before and after each class
  • Communicate professionally with SciGenie staff and school personnel
  • Arrive on time and maintain dependable attendance throughout the program session
Qualifications
  • Enjoys working with children
  • Energetic, patient, dependable, and professional
  • Comfortable speaking and leading activities in front of a group
  • Interest or experience in STEM, science, robotics, engineering, technology, or education
  • Must have reliable transportation to schools in the Ashburn/Aldie area
  • Must be able to successfully complete required background screening
  • Previous teaching, tutoring, camp, childcare, robotics, or after-school experience is a plus, but not required
