Job description

Experienced MSHA Trainers Wanted

Heavy Equipment Operating Experience & MSHA Part 46 Training Experience are REQUIRED.
We're building a brand-new sand processing plant and are looking for an experienced Trainer to join our team.
If you have experience operating heavy equipment in aggregate, mining, sand, cement, asphalt, concrete, manufacturing, or other heavy industrial environments-and have a passion for developing safe, skilled operators-we want to hear from you!
What You'll Do
  • Develop and deliver MSHA Part 46 compliant training programs for new and existing miners.
  • Provide hands-on task training and evaluate operator proficiency on heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, haul trucks, skid steers, forklifts, telehandlers, and aerial lifts.
  • Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs) and educate employees on site-specific hazards and traffic patterns.
  • Perform pre-shift equipment inspections and assist with routine preventive maintenance.
  • Operate heavy equipment safely while demonstrating proper operating procedures and best practices.
  • Monitor and coach employees in production environments to ensure safe and efficient equipment operation.
  • Maintain accurate training records, evaluations, and documentation required by MSHA regulations.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through effective communication and leadership.

Requirements
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience operating heavy equipment in a mining or heavy industrial environment (Required)
  • MSHA Part 46 "Competent Person" designation or ability to obtain/maintain designation
  • Completion of required MSHA Part 46 New Miner and Task Training
  • Thorough knowledge of MSHA regulations, safety procedures, and hazard recognition
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively train adult learners
  • Experience developing and delivering safety and equipment operation training
  • Ability to evaluate operator performance and provide constructive coaching
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Physical ability to work in demanding outdoor environments and operate heavy equipment safely
  • Safety-first mindset with a strong work ethic
