Job description

SCHOOL NURSE - RN

Registered nurses looking for a work-life balance, come join the rewarding work of school nursing! Be home by 4 and enjoy the school breaks.
The Caswood Group is recruiting Registered Nurses for 3 openings at a local district on the Southwest side of Monroe County. This is for registered nurses only and will be a direct hire working directly for the district. This is not an agency position.
Caswood is seeking candidates for a tenure-track position as a school nurse beginning immediately. The school nurse will be responsible for the provision and coordination of school health services for students and staff at the School.

Pay is highly competitive for school nursing and will be based on experience and earned graduate credits, per the School District's Teachers’ Contract.
There will be a 1 year probationary period.

There are 3 openings:

  1. 1 position 35 hours (5 days/week), - Full-Time Float
  2. 1 position 24 hours (5 days/week) - Part-Time High School

PTO, teachers union, school calendar, tenure track.
SCHOOL NURSE QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in the field of nursing
  • Current New York State license as a registered Professional Nurse
  • Pediatric Experience, and/or school nursing
  • Possesses professional role-modeling, communication, cultural competence, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of school nursing procedures and services, along with the ability to maintain confidentiality are expected

Preferred:

  • Holds New York State teaching certification as a School Nurse Teacher


SCHOOL NURSE DUTIES:

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining student health, and immunization records
  • Conducting various medical screenings
  • Working with the building team to address health-related needs that impact learning
  • Supervising the health office staff
