Job description

Lead After School Supervisor
Position Function
The purpose of this position is to oversee and supervision ofย schoolย age children between the grades of 1 to 6. The scheduled time shall be 3:00 till 6:00. Successful applicant would work in collaboration with the Superintendent, First Selectman, and school administrationย  Theย jobย shall be, but not limited to:
Essential Functions





  • Provide organize and supervision, interact, in a structured program forย schoolย age children in anย after-schoolย setting; such as homework, snack, safety and play time.
  • Report to theย schoolย office and review any absentees from the "Afterย Schoolย Program".
  • Maintain an attendance sheet for participating students and assure appropriate information is updated and correct.
  • Provide first aid if applicable. Provide first aid if applicable. CPR and First Aide certified.ย Report any injuries and complete appropriate form(s). Copies shall be provided to the parent, person completing the form, administrator and a copy remain on site.
  • Assure the proper parent(s) or person, who are authorize to pick-up the student, check with you when picking-up the student.
  • Shall receive checks on the 15th of each monthย from the parents, for the month and document. Documentation shall be name, amount, check number and date.
  • Report any tardy pick-ups and notify the parent(s) of infraction and cost.
  • Coordinate activities with other staff.
  • Coordinate with the school administrator for snacks and supplies needed.
  • May be requested to participate in meetings with parents and other individuals for review of the program progress and ideas for the betterment of the program.
  • Communicate effectively with administrator(s), children, parents and coworkers.
  • Follow policy and procedures as outlined in the "Parent Handbook"
  • Responsible for the area(s) are cleaned and equipment is put away prior to leaving.
  • "Mandatory Reporter" as defined as a person reporting any improprieties, injuries and/or discrepancies that is detrimental to the student and program.

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other administrators as designated by the Superintendent.ย

  • Knowledge of data information systems and the formulation of action plans to benefit the after school program.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding after school care.
  • Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students and parents, and to prepare oral or written communications, such as presentations, reports, memoranda, letters, grant proposals, curriculum documents, workshops and evaluations.
  • Ability to evaluate the staff working for the program.
  • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, parents, community groups and others contacted in the course of work.
