Join the Raritan Bay Area YMCA as an Afterschool Program Site Coordinator and help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where children feel supported, included, and encouraged to grow.
For more than 110 years, the Raritan Bay Area YMCA has proudly served the Perth Amboy community and surrounding area. Today, our Y serves more than 6,000 members through programs and initiatives focused on Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.
Position Details
  • Schedule: Monday thru Friday; 2:30pm to 6:00pm
  • Pay: $19 to $20 per hour

Essential Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee daily afterschool program operations, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children.
  • Supervise, support, and provide guidance to Program Counselors and volunteers, including training and performance feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with YMCA policies and applicable NJ childcare licensing, health & safety requirements.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with children, families, staff, and community partners.
  • Coordinate program activities, special events, field trips, facility use, and related setup and cleanup.
  • Monitor program participation and effectiveness and assist with developing activities and initiatives that strengthen and expand the program.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Child Development, Education, Recreation, or a related field preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience working in childcare, youth development, afterschool, or a related program preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to supervise and support staff while working independently and as part of a team.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.
  • CPR/First Aid certification, TB test, health clearance, and required NJ childcare licensing trainings must be completed within required timeframes.

Salary Description
$19 to $20 per hour
