Job Summary:

The 21st CCLC Teacher provides academic and enrichment instruction to students participating in the districtโ€™s out-of-school-time program. The teacher supports studentsโ€™ academic growth, social-emotional development, and engagement through structured activities aligned with state standards and program goals. Instruction takes place during after-school and/or summer hours and is designed to complement the regular school-day curriculum.

The teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, monitoring student progress, maintaining attendance and required documentation, and collaborating with site coordinators, program staff, and families. All services must comply with 21st CCLC grant requirements, district policies, and applicable state and federal regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for the recruiting of the required number of students to participate in the After School Program for the site.
2. Responsible for all communications regarding all aspects of the After School Program.
3. Assist in a successful design, implementation and daily management of all the activitiesย of the After School Program.
4. Responsible for the safety and security of the site by making sure that the site is clean andย free of any obstructive items that may harm any student or staff person.
5. Directly assist in the implementation in the receiving and serving of the dinner meals.
6. Responsible for the monthly forms for the hot dinner meals program.
7. Assist the University Interns with the implementation of the academic activities.
8. Assist in the coordination of field trips and the enrichment/ recreation activities.
9. Maintain effective communication with the parents/ guardians of students.
10. Responsible for the daily maintenance for cleanliness and safety of the designated areaย during the implementation of the after school program.

Hourly Rate:ย $40.00 - $45.00 per hour

Qualification Standards:

Currently employed by the two sites of service: Dr. Lena Edwards Academic Charter School or Soaring Heights Charter School

Education:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in education, child development, or related field (preferred)
  • Associate degree or relevant coursework (acceptable in some cases)

Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children in educational or recreational settings
  • Teacher Certification

Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Leadership and organizational abilities
  • Ability to engage children in learning and activities

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of child development principles
