Company Description

Rise Up & Walk After School Programs (RUNW) provide quality youth development opportunities to school-age children and youth for three hours directly after school. Research shows that children who participate in quality afterschool programs have higher school attendance and academic achievement and are less likely to be involved in risky behaviors during the afterschool hours. Our Afterschool Programs are supported by school, community, public and private partnerships. RUNW offers a broad range of educational, recreational and culturally age-appropriate activities that serve as a wrap-around support to what happens during the school day. RUNW also provide working parents with a familiar safe haven, after the bell for their children. Youth and family involvement in program planning and implementation is a key component. Programs operate five-days-a-week during the regular school year and may elect to operate during school breaks. Programs may also extend hours into the evening hours, particularly when serving older adolescents.
The Rise Up & Walk After School Program (RUNW) accepts childcare vouchers from ACS, ACD HRA and Unions. Some programs may elect to receive fees for services provided. Our programs are licensed by OCFS and DOH. These vouchers will enable (RUNW) to continue partnering with local community schools to provide after-school services at available sites for 2500 youth across New York City.
