Job description

St. Mary's Elementary School, located in Annapolis, Maryland, is seeking a qualified Middle School Mathematics Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. The Middle School Math Teacher will be responsible for the direct supervision and instruction of students. He/she will provide a Catholic education through excellent academic and extracurricular programs that promote leadership, achievement, and service within the church and community. This is a full-time, benefit eligible, 10-month teaching position.
Essential Functions
  • Follows and maintains knowledge of AoB policies and procedures.
  • Implement lesson plans utilizing a variety of techniques to motivate, challenge, and engage students.
  • Plan and execute an instructional program that upholds the values and ideals of the Catholic Church.
  • Create an instructional environment conducive to learning that is appealing and organized.
  • Interact effectively and respond to all parent communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner.
  • Maintain high professional standards consistent with the Catholic mission and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Safely and actively supervise students both inside and outside of the classroom.
  • Expertly integrate GSuite for Education into a 21st-century classroom.
  • Meet the needs, interest, and abilities of students in accordance with the curriculum; effective instruction will include differentiated learning.

Position Qualifications
  • Degree in Math or Education with a Math Concentration.
  • MSDE teacher certification in Education for Math or the desire to obtain this.
  • Knowledge curriculum, and principles and practices of pedagogy.
  • Must be proficient in using a variety of technology during daily lessons as well as to enrich and differentiate instruction.
  • Employment is contingent upon acceptable results of state and federal fingerprint background checks, completion of VIRTUS Training, and completion of all necessary paperwork.
