Job description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Gastroenterologist to join our growing healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be board-certified (or board-eligible) in Gastroenterology and have expertise in diagnosing and treating conditions related to the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, including the esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas, and gallbladder.
The Gastroenterologist will provide full-time outpatient care, perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as endoscopies and colonoscopies, and work collaboratively with other medical professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and treat patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders.

  • Perform procedures such as colonoscopies, upper endoscopies (EGD), sigmoidoscopies, polypectomies, and capsule endoscopy.

  • Interpret diagnostic tests, including lab results, imaging studies, and endoscopic findings.

  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients.

  • Provide consultation services to other physicians and healthcare providers.

  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.

  • Educate patients and families on digestive health, preventative measures, and treatment options.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory and institutional requirements.

  • Participate in staff meetings, and continuing education. 3 days in clinic, 2 days in procedures.

  • Reasonable Shared Call with mid-level support 7 days a week.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.

  • Completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine.

  • Completion of a fellowship in Gastroenterology.

  • 3 years of experience in gastroenterology

  • General GI: BC/BE in Gastroenterology, Unrestricted Florida State Medical License or Eligible for Licensure

  • Advanced GI: BC/BE in Gastroenterology with advanced training in EUS & ERCP, Unrestricted Florida State Medical License or Eligible for Licensure

  • Valid and unrestricted medical license in the state of Florida.

  • DEA license for prescribing medications.

Preferred Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

  • Proficient in endoscopic techniques and management of complex GI conditions.

  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
